Amusing little anecdote...
So I was regaling you with tales of my shopping excursion but I didn't really unload any specifics... It was particularly nice to, for the first time in my life, shop in Forever 21 so kudos to them for bringing out the plus sizes. I really hope more mainstream companies follow suit (H&M, are you listening?).
I find that typically, department stores put their plus size departments in corners -- Macys notoriously sticks it on the top floor behing or near housewares (nice, right?) -- but in Forever 21, it was sort of on the open and you had to share a dressing room corridor with the skinny ladies... You get past your fear of being judged quickly once you start to try on clothes and see some pretty cute stuff fitting...
Anyway, with my big rack, I wasn't too comfortable in a lot of their tops but I did buy three cheap camis and spent a whopping $1.50 on a set of headbands so I left the store with a shopping bag. I was privately amused because other than one time when I bought a gift for someone else, I've never left Forever 21 with a shopping bag. In my head I wondered if people saw me carrying it and wondered what I'd fit into. I can't help it - I do shit like this to myself.
I'm wearing one of the camis today and it's not very visible under my outfit but I'd love for someone to ask me where I bought it. I've never been able to say "Forever 21" before and that would be nice.
